Omar Quintanilla would not be horrible. At least it would allow the young middle infielders the chance to play everyday in the minor leagues, instead of being a back up on the big league roster.

This Pirates fan wishes Vin Mazzaro nothing but the best. We didn’t use him this year, but he just got caught in a numbers crunch. He was outstanding in 2013.

You can add Troy Patton to the Padres’ list.

Two guys on that list I could see Milwaukee taking a minor league contract flyer on, Carp and Nelson.
Jeffrey Fletcher
Perhaps Ciriaco too

Mazzaro, obviously, deserves a shot at a job.
And given that 2015 is an odd numbered year, Carp isn’t horrible.

Lannan was serviceable once upon a time as a pitch-to-contact #5. He’s not really suited to leverage-situations in the pen where missing bats carries with it a higher chance of a desirable outcome.
