The Yankees have acquired pitcher Chaz Roe from the Marlins, Chris Cotillo of MLB Daily Dish tweets. Cotillo also notes that the Marlins will receive cash in return. Roe appears likely to join the Yankees’ big-league club.
The 27-year-old righty has pitched the entire season for Triple-A New Orleans, posting a 3.66 ERA with 10.1 K/9 and 3.0 BB/9 in 64 innings of relief. His only big-league experience came in 2013, when he pitched 22 1/3 innings for the Diamondbacks, posting a 4.03 ERA with a respectable 9.7 K/9 and 5.2 BB/9. He was a first-round pick by the Rockies in 2005.

I’ve watched him all year in NOLA, the Marlins AAA team. He has an above average fastball, and a hard slider/sinker. He does have a tendency to pitch high in the strike zone, making him a flyball pitcher, which is ok at Zephyrs Field, a pitchers park, but may be different at Yankee Stadium. Good luck to him.

wait, I was under the impression that Zephyrs Field, like most of the PCL, was a hitters park. That means that Bour Jensen and Cahna are hitting bombs , and that Caminero is worse than I originally thought

wait. seriously? Zephyrs field is a pitcher’s park? I thought that, like most of the PCL, that it was a hitter’s park. That means that Bour, Cahna and Jensen must be hitting blasts!
