The latest outright assignments from around MLB…
- The Phillies announced that they outrighted right-hander Brian Sanches to Triple-A. This marks the second time this year they've outrighted the 33-year-old. He has allowed seven earned runs in 6 1/3 innings at the MLB level this year, though he does have a 2.48 ERA with 8.0 K/9 and 1.4 BB/9 at Triple-A.

I feel bad for Sanches. Yeah he’s your typical rubber armed, journeyman reliever but Charlie has NO CLUE how to use guys like him. Reminds me of the situations he threw Nelson Figeura in. These aren’t the kid of guys you toss in when its late in a game and runners are already on base. They are guys you put in when your starter was tossed out early or the other team is getting their tail whipped.

Not sure if Sanches really got a fair chance in Philly. For a stellar relief pitcher, you would think he would have had a longer leash.
