The Brewers designated infielder Brooks Conrad for assignment, according to Adam McCalvy of MLB.com. The move creates roster space for Tyler Thornburg, who's being called on to start tonight's game against the Blue Jays.
Conrad, 32, has appeared in 25 games for the Brewers this year, playing all four infield positions. He has just three hits and three walks in 44 plate appearances, however. His career numbers — a .212/.287/.406 line in five seasons with the A's, Braves and Brewers — are much better.

I like how the word infielder appears before Brooks Conrad’s name.
Devern Hansack
Well, he is an infielder.

Even better, the WHOLE sentence starts (in a different context, of course) with “designated infielder”
AaronAngst
He probably has the record for longest time spent on the 25 man roster with a BA below .100 – Looking forward to seeing Thornburg in action.
Josh Bittner
So ready to see Thornburg tonight!

Go Bucs! Congrats to CSU alum Tyler Thornburg!

a little embarrased by how pleased I am conrad is gone, i’m sure he’s a great guy but his is the worst performance i can remember from a Brewer; i mean jeffrey hammonds thinks he let the team down.

Surprising that Conrad was DFA’d just as the Brewers are playing the Blue Jays. I say this considering how well Conrad has hit against Francisco Cordero and Carlos Villanueva.
Gumby65
Braves should be all over this.

I hope you’re being sarcastic. What need does he fill?
Gumby65
Your hope has been fulfilled.

Conrad was dropped and not the dropper? that’s different…
