The Twins have designated outfielder Erik Komatsu for assignment, according to a team press release. The move allowed the club to recall right-hander Jeff Manship from Triple-A Rochester.
Komatsu, 24, was DFA’d by the Cardinals earlier this month and quickly claimed by the Twins. The outfielder appeared in 15 games for each club in 2012. Komatsu hit .277/.367/.382 last season in Double-A and has never played at the Triple-A level.

yawn!

I wonder if he’ll play for more teams than Bautista

Sign recently DFA’d outfielder, DFA outfielder in a month, rinse and repeat.
HalfSt
He was a Rule 5 pick. This should mean that he goes back to the Nationals’ farm system, unless the Twins arrange a trade.
+1/2St.
Lastings
Not necessarily. One, since he has been DFA’d he needs to go through waivers in order to go back to Washington. If no one claims him, and if Washington still wants him back, then Washington can pay Minnesota to acquire him. Otherwise, if a team claims him then he belongs to them as long as he stays on the major league roster.
Robb Logan
Actually he was in the Cards system after the Nats. Was picked up by the Twins after being DFA’s by St. Louis so the rule 5 rule had already passed.
Will
That’s not true. His Rule 5 status was just transferred to the Twins.

Good luck, Komo Beatz.

Given the rash of injuries in StL (Jay, Craig, Berkman) and Robinson’s tailspin, could he be re-claimed by the Cards?
