- Luke Hughes has cleared waivers and accepted his assignment to Triple-A, he tweeted. The Athletics designated the infielder for assignment earlier this week. Hughes, 27, has hit .130/.125/.130 in 24 plate appearances with the Twins and A's this year.
Even though he had an initial rough run with the A’s, he definitely has talent and I hope he makes it back to the show.
The A’s infield has been a complete disaster, so far. I expect Weeks and Pennington to return to form but, 3B and 1B look hopeless. At least Kila can hit for average.
