- The Tigers signed free agent outfielder Jeff Frazier, according to the team's transactions page. Frazier, 29, appeared in nine games for the 2010 Tigers before playing in the Nationals' system in 2011. The corner outfielder owns a .271/.324/.415 line in parts of nine minor league seasons. He had been playing in the Mexican League this year.

I think this signals that Brad Eldred is going to be optioned when Doug Fister comes off the DL. Eldred is out of options and would have to pass through waivers; unlikely seeing the season he’s had in AAA before being called up (13 Homers in 20 games) so teams would probably be willing to take a flier on him. Fraizer is just a replacement in Toledo for Eldred.
