FRIDAY: At least two AL teams are scouting Rogers, Troy Renck of the Denver Post reports.
THURSDAY: The Rockies are drawing trade interest in out-of-options right-hander Esmil Rogers, Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports tweets. The Rockies are open to moving Rogers in the right deal.
Rogers, 26, has allowed 24 hits, 13 walks and 17 earned runs in 17 2/3 innings so far this year. However, he has 21 strikeouts and his average fastball velocity is a career-best 95.9 mph, according to FanGraphs. Assuming the projected super two cutoff is accurate, Rogers will be arbitration eligible as a super two player this offseason. He can't be sent to the minor leagues without passing through waivers.

Doesn’t matter if you have any pitching ability whatsoever, if you throw hard teams will be interested.

So he’s a right-handed Andrew Miller. Got it.

I don’t know exactly what his drawing interest is, but 37 baserunners in a little over 17 innings seems lopsided enough to be Picasso-ish to me.

Yeah. Not much parallel in them this season, or at least so far through Miller’s 1st 6 games. Miller has allowed 4 base runners over 6IP and only 1 via BB with 7k. Hopefully switching to relief is the trick with him, though only much more time is going to tell us all that.

I would love to see him in an A’s uniform…I’ve always liked this guy. His numbers on FanGraphs along with pitching in Colorado tell me he’s had some bad luck but you put him in a pitcher’s park like the O.Co Coliseum and you just might have something special…

We’ll give you Adam Lind for him.

Astros ? How about Brett Wallace for him ?

Arm strength seems to be the holy grail to front offices. Esmil Rogers can’t pitch effectively, at least no consistently. Any trade return would be minimal in value because Rogers’ value is just that too – minimal.
