Here are the day's minor moves…
- The Braves have signed outfielder Collin DeLome according to his Twitter feed. The 26-year-old hit .253/.318/.460 in his six year minor league career after being the Astros' fifth round pick in 2007. They released him last month.

Great this will solve our 6 game slide

It’s disappointing right now how the management is losing when Fredi doesn’t even realize our pitchers are tired like the other night with Hudson

Are his numbers in Indy ball this season from after his release?

Being an Astros fan, just wanted to let you know what you are getting. DeLome actually has a bit of power, and was the only player from the 2007 draft that stayed in the Astros farm system (drafts from the early 2000s thru 2007 were particularly terrible under the pre-Bobby Heck scouting regime). He’s got decent skills, may make it as a 5th outfielder if he is given a shot. Kind of reminds me of Brooks Conrad in terms of skill level — middling defense, strikes out more than he should, has a bit of power. Was’nt a fit with Astros minor league system as they do have some good up and coming talent in that area and at the major league level their 4th and 5th outfielders (Travis Buck and Justin Maxwell) are better from an overall tool perspective than DeLome. But I think this is a decent pickup for the Braves, may help them down the line.

DeLome absolutely raked in the Atlantic League and carried the Bridgeport lineup. After leaving the Bluefish on Saturday, his absence was heavily felt, as they fell 15-5 to the Ducks. They lost again today 8-3.

After reading the above post, I hope they use him to his best ability because I live in his hometown and know his family. He is a great player! So proud to hear of his being picked! Go play some ball Collin, we are BUNA,TX proud of YOU!!!!!

The politics of baseball. When you have management changes, everyone wants their own people, the Astros have a real problem with people leaving them and being stars elsewhere.
