Keeping track of the latest minor moves from around MLB…
- The Red Sox signed outfielders Jason Repko and Josh Kroeger to minor league contracts yesterday, according to the transactions page at Yahoo Sports. Repko played all three outfield positions for the Twins last year and contributed a .555 OPS in 144 plate appearances. Kroeger, who appeared in 22 games with the 2004 Diamondbacks, spent the 2011 season with the Marlins' top affiliate, posting an .837 OPS.
- The Orioles recently signed Taiwanese left-hander Yi-Hsiang Lin, Matt Eddy of Baseball America reported last week. The prospect is 19 years old.

I saw this link on facebook and thought Hoops Rumors posted it. I thought the Knicks made a move with Lin and almost lost it.

Oh, that Lin.

Repko and Kroeger were signed on 1/10 and 1/13, respectively and have both been in Red Sox camp for a while. Yahoo was just behind on that one.

Kroeger and Repko both will be good for callups if an injury hits later after the team finally releases McDonald.. The team also has Lin, Kalish and Hassan as OF depth at Pawtucket so they are not hurting at all as far as OF go.. or won’t be when Kalish gets back from his latest surgery.

I’m still curious why the 4th outfield job hasn’t gone to Lin yet. He’s considered to be a top defensive outfielder. I know he can’t really hit… but McDonald hasn’t exactly impressed there either.

Me too.. I hope that since his protector (Francona) is gone, so is Mcdonald’s place on the roster.
Lin can play a slick defensive OF at all 3 positions, has a great arm and runs well. neither can hit much, so the call should be an easy one.

I think Repko slots into the depth chart somewhere between Alex Hassan and a potted plant.

Bye to all of my favorite and long time commenters on here. You guys have been great, and I have been banned.

for what reason?
Encarnacion's Parrot
Probably for being too sassy. A lot of that has been going around in the last couple weeks.

Did Notsureifsrs get banned? I haven’t seen him on in a while I don’t think.
Rabbitov
If he did, I’d leave.

He probably has the best comments on this site, as both a comedian and as a baseball analyst.
inleylandwetrust
No he’s still around. I’d imagine a few regular posters would stop posting if he got banned. He’s probably the most recognizable poster on the site.
Encarnacion's Parrot
He’s my fave for sure. Once I see that avatar, I have to stop and read what he has to say.
But I can tell that the recent wave of rules or guidelines that have been laid before us has decreased the volume of comments, particularly the one’s that actually deserved a “like,” or what I like to call “clout points.” Because of this, I personally rarely comment on here anymore. It used to be a perfect blend of laughs and brilliant debate. Not so much perfect anymore unfortunately.

Sadly I’m afraid this site is going to turn into those “I remember when…” and “I remember how it used to be…” type of sites.
