The Nationals remain interested in Diamondbacks outfielder Gerardo Parra, but word is that Arizona is asking a lot for him, tweets Danny Knobler of CBSSports.com. Meanwhile, MLB.com’s Bill Ladson tweets that the D’Backs have told the Nationals that Parra is not available.
Arizona GM Kevin Towers told reporters early last week that he doesn’t want to trade Parra, but this is the first we have heard of the club telling the Nats that he is not up for discussion. A baseball source told Ladson that he believes the Nationals will now turn to an in-house option in center field to open the season.

with harper being optioned just now, i still don’t think that will have much of an effect here.

They said Bryce will play mostly CF in AAA so there’s probably less of a chance they go after Parra now.

Yeah they seem to like the idea of playing him in center rather than werth, which i agree with..i’ve thought from the start that he could be a centerfielder

Parra isn’t up to the high standard Rizzo has said he’s seeking. Heck, cf isn’t really necessarily even his position. And he may at best be a 4th outfielder on any good team.
I suppose that wouldn’t stop Rizzo from going after him though. And if true to form, grossly overpaying for him in a trade.

AJ Cole is the one that really has a chance to bite us big in the Gio trade. it really wasn’t as much of an overpay as many think.

Washington needs to understand that, just because Arizona has too many good outfielders, doesn’t mean they’re willing to just ‘dump’ a Gold Glover with a rocket for an arm for squat. You gotta give a little to get a little. Probably why the Nationals have never been competitive.

yeah thats exactly why.
