The latest links from around MLB…
- Free agent outfielder Magglio Ordonez told Los Cronistas that he wants to play, but doesn't plan on accepting a minor league deal (Twitter links, hat tip to Danny Knobler). The Athletics and other clubs have shown some interest, but haven't made concrete offers.

um, wasn’t Rizzo traded one offseason ago, not two?

I really hope that getting used to traded for Rizzo will come in useful when Selig awards him back to Boston as compensation for Epstein going to Chicago…
Rizzo would be fine by me as compensation.. Regardless of whether or not they need a 1B.. he is still a top guy and the best I would want the Cubs have.

he’s not a potentially useful middle reliever, so i think it’s safe for him to get a house in chicago….

Rizzo isn’t even an option. Why would Selig give Rizzo to Boston when the Cubs just got him? If a top player was going it would be Brett Jackson. But, since that too is unlikely, it will probably be McNutt or Vitters.

it’ll be a boatload of cash and a middle-of-the-road minor leaguer in the Sox insist on a player. Selig would have to be a complete moron to give the Sox a top flight prospect, because then front office personal instantly become deadline trade chips and their salaries will skyrocket to reflect that.
The only people who seem incapable of realizing that are Boston newspaper writers and Sox fans who wants Selig to bail the Sox out for throwing away all their negotiation leverage.

Vitters is who am figuring it will end up being also.. Was just hoping could get back Rizzo though, cause he should end up being an excellent 1B and power hitter.
Maybe not in 2012, but He will be hitting some monstrous HR at Wrigley for years.

So if Rizzo goes to the BoSox….Where does Adrian Gonzalez go?
ellisburks
Shortstop I would assume.

They’d just put 10 fielders out there. According to Red Sox fans, they can do that.

We never say that. That’s crazy. Just 5 infielders, 5 outfielders. 😉

They could move him also, or Lavarnway. Other is a DH of the future if they wanted.
Teams do make moves with trading away the same prospects in mind sometimes.

Lol. Why in the earth would the BoSox move a guy they just signed to a 7yr/154 million dollar contract last yr?

Another who does not read posts…
Move Rizzo or Lavarnway….

Im not talking about Rizzo. My question was simple, I was implying on Gonzalez. According to your post before this one you said this:
“They could move him also, or Lavarnway. Other is a DH of the future if they wanted.”

Not a chance it’ll happen, but I’d like seeing Ordonez back with the Tigers in a DH role.
