Free agent Joe Saunders is receiving one-year and multi-year offers and a three-year deal for the left-hander is possible, sources tell Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports (via Twitter). The Tigers and Marlins among the teams that would be logical fits for the veteran, Rosenthal adds.
Yesterday, it was reported that the Marlins have little or no interest in Saunders or Edwin Jackson. The Orioles, meanwhile, have had several conversations with Saunders' representatives.

If there really is a three year offer on the table for Saunders, I’ll be it’s from the O’s.
No other team is THAT desperate for pitching.

I can’t imagine the Orioles would give him three years. He’s not a mediocre reliever.
Now, if he’s willing to sit in the pen, then maybe.
The_Porcupine
nah, when was the last time they gave a starting pitcher a 3 year deal? they only give those out to mediocre relief pitchers.
dudemanbro
who would do such a thing?
Devern Hansack
Eh, 3/$9MM wouldn’t be horrible, I suppose. It’s amazing this guy is getting this much attention though, as his career FIP is almost a half run higher than his career 4.16 ERA.

I’m assuming he’ll get more than that… the diamondbacks originally offered him 2 year/12 million… (and he turned it down) I think he could get 3 year/15m considering that… or maybe he misjudged the market.
and he’s not THAT much worse than Edwin Jackson who will probably get 3 or 4 years and 10m/year

After a bunch of news about teams not being interested I dont understand how he could get a 3 year deal.

Oh to be left handed.

It didn’t help Ollie perez.. Except to sucker minaya out of a 3 year deal…
tdot32
considering how bad perez was, i’d say it helped him a lot

He’s a better pitcher than Lackey and Burnett at this point in their careers, and more consistent than Jackson.
