The Rangers and manager Ron Washington agreed to a two-year extension through 2014, John Blake of the Rangers tweets. The 59-year-old Washington has led the Rangers to the World Series in consecutive seasons. His previous contract, an extension signed after the 2010 season, ran through 2012.
Washington, a former big league infielder and coach, has a 427-383 record in five seasons as the Rangers' skipper. The club has increased its regular season win total every season under Washington, leading up to last year's 96-66 record.
doc ellis! mr. no no on LSD
According to ESPN, after failing his drug test he admitted to hanging dogs. It states: “Ultimately, Vick recanted his previous statement wherein he said he was
not actually involved in the killing of six to eight dogs. … Vick
admitted taking part in the actual hanging of the dogs.”

*EDIT – After failing his polygraph test NOT his drug test. Story ID# 3718304
Anabolic steroids are illegal and face a heavy crime. Victor Conte and Balco ring a bell?
Lol. That made my day. Well said.
having that on his resume never helped cito!
So you’ve never gotten a DWI, per se?
Take out Lewis and replace with Dutch. Or just keep them both.
There were four other candidates for the Rangers’ manager job before he was hired (Trey Hillman and John Russell were two of them). None of them lasted more than Warsh in the positions they eventually got.
Yeah I knew Hillman was with KC for a bit. Always heard good things about Washington. He was a big part of teaching guys like Eric Chavez excellent D at third back when he was with the A’s. He just strikes me as a guy players would like to play for, very similar to Tito. Despite his WS blunders I think the guy deserves the job and its not like he can’t get better, its his first managing job.

Andrus: /phone rings
Andrus: Hello?
Washington: Are you bunting?

Mike Tyson
Nope. Haha. Is that kind of like laying down a bunt off Lackey for your 2000th hit?
Absolutely haha
You realize that if you have guests on your property, and one of them gets hurt, then you are responsible for it under the law. Are you suggesting that Vick unknowingly had people dog fighting on his property?
Getting it even scrunchier
Or that Nelson Cruz picked a REALLY bad day to mistime a jump.
It’s not the jump, it’s the fact that he wasn’t playing no-doubles defense
I gotta say this, I agree with all of what you’re saying, I’ve always hated this about sports, if you or me had killed dogs on our property, we’d be getting 30+ years in prison, Vick? What was it? A little under 2 years, that’s just 1 example though
Yeah celebrity bias is what it is I guess. Lindsay lohan could get caught smuggling 20 kilos and get a year and half in a resort prison. A normal citizen does it then they take our whole life away in the blink of an eye.
Based on every comment you have made above my own, you have won the internet.
Who cares? You have a serious addiction to everything Ron Washington. I enjoy reading your illogical comments.
You need to become more knowledgeable about what exactly a manager is hired to do before making comments like this.
