The Mets avoided arbitration with starter Mike Pelfrey, tweets Adam Rubin of ESPNNewYork.com, agreeing to a one-year deal worth about $5.675MM. Matt Swartz had projected the Boras client at $5.8MM.
As our arbitration tracker shows, the Mets have Manny Acosta and Andres Torres remaining.

Boras is clearly losing it! 10 years ago he would have gotten 1.25 million more than he was worth. Instead he loses his client 125k. Oh the humanity.
PS I guess Pelfrey will have to sustain on pierogies and hot dogs rather than filet.

You forgot to mention that he stunk last season. That’s probably why he didn’t receive that much projected money.
Jeffrey Bodurka
Who cares? Should have just
let him walk and put in some minor league scrub for the league minimum
who would probably give the same results. Were finishing in dead last
anyway.

hopefully, he’s rebounds, pitches well, and alderson can trade his butt away for some more prospects.

Amen!
“Mets Aviod Arbitration With Mike Pelfrey.” HAH! What they really should have done was just avoid Mike Pelfrey altogether. >:(

Pelf’s last year in queens…….
Infield Fly
Good! I can save some money now that I won’t have to buy as many barf bags. Besides, if we’re lucky maybe this’ll be his last half-year in Queens!
Carl Folsom
And with that money, he bought some choice seats to the KU-Baylor game last night.

What numbers had been submitted? I can’t believe he got a $2m raise over last year with his 2011 numbers.
