No Rays? Sigh…
tellrodt
I know, right? I’m tired of this frigging bull crap. Another media ploy to get me thinking the Rays actually want to have some sort of an offense then whap, I fall back to reality.

Brian Sabean … GET INVOLVED !

*crickets chirping*

Rockies should be doing this, and moving Smith as he seems to have very solid value.
carlpavanosmustache
Go get him Twins. Unlike Cuddy and your other sluggers this guy isn’t afraid of a big park. Pull hitters CRUSH at TF, gap guys struggle.
srsbryzness
Unless you’re Jim Thome, who hit it wherever he felt and the park was forced to enjoy it.
bleedrockiepurple
Rox should be all over this but not for a 3 yr deal, which is what he is looking to get.
2 yrs and a mutual option would be great. Makes Smith expandable, then they can and should include Blackmon/Wheeler with Smith for Prado.
neilg
Agree completely, bleed…but with each passing moment I lose more and more faith in O’Dowd that he will do what is BEST for the Rockies…it all makes too much sense, which is why I don’t think it will happen…I need to stop being so negative…;)
bleedrockiepurple
No no your not being negative. Your being a realist. You said it perfectly, makes far too much sense four O’Dowd to even consider doing it.
Andrew Casey
The Red Sox probably won’t sign anybody good this offseason.
tellrodt
Well what do you want? You guys got tons of new additions last year. Just be patient, they’ll gel together soon enough, unfortunately. You guys up in Boston and the fans in NY are spoiled. Must be nice.
Andrew Casey
Yeah guys like Crawford who sucked in his first year here. I will admit Adrian was a great addition to the team. Its not spoiled its called not wanting to repeat 2011.
tellrodt
Like I said, you’ve got to be patient and let the team gel. You guys got AGon, CC, multiple bullpen arms, lots of guys over the years. You also have Youk, Pedroia, Jacoby, Beckett, Lester, etc. etc.. PLUS, you have Big Papi coming back next year. I’d call that a pretty big effing signing. What more do you want your team to do short of literally buying a championship? Believe me, I want to be wrong here, but I just don’t see the Red Sox choking this year like they did this past year, and they’ll still get a closer to replace Papp. Last year, the Red Sox had a payroll well over $160 MILLION, and you want more? Call it what you want. I call it spoiled.
Andrew Casey
We need an outfield bat and I think Willingham would fit nicely on the Red Sox. Also Big Papi coming back is huge but theres always a chance he may not produce the same that he did in 2011. I don’t want much more I just want some more pitching and an outfield bat so they will be able to compete with the Yankees easier.
tellrodt
Fair enough. I hate the Waynkees, but I also hate the Red Sox. Nothing personal against you, obviously, but being a Rays and Padres fan, maybe you can see where I’m coming from when I call big market baseball teams’ fans spoiled.
Andrew Casey
The Red Sox probably won’t sign anybody good this offseason.
Kyle B
Another average outfielder the Indians want..
tellrodt
Sh!!!!!!!t, I’d take him to DH on my team any day of the week.
the1rick
Would be nice RH power to keep from pitching around Santana.
Deuce Kupec
Indians need an right handed a bat and better than the other slacks they got on their team.
chee1rs
Sox and Yankees fans are spoiled …. so what
