I can think of just one backup catcher the Mets have in house and that’s Mike Nickeas. While I love the guy, I can’t quite condone using him as their number 2 catcher. This is gonna be a tough offseason for Mets fans, doesn’t even look like they’ll use the money saved from Jose to plug other areas.
