The latest outrights from around MLB…
- The Mets outrighted Nick Evans to Triple-A, according to Andy McCullough of the Star-Ledger (on Twitter). Evans, 25, posted a .256/.314/.403 line in 194 plate appearances, while playing all four corner positions. Evans cleared waivers along with Jason Pridie and both players can declare free agency, according to Adam Rubin of ESPNNewYork.com (on Twitter).

I wonder if they’ll both opt for free agency.

now THIS is a shocker!!!!

I continue to be surprised that no one ever picks up Evans. Yeah he’s a AAAA player but his bat and versatility i thought would at least interest some teams as a bench piece.

I couldn’t agree more. For a versatile guy who’s been a part time player in a big ballpark, his numbers really aren’t all that bad. He’s got an .849 career OPS vs. lefties. Guys like that aren’t that easy to find. He’ll only be 26 next year too.
I’d love to see Doug Melvin pick up Evans as a potential platoon guy.

Not a big surprise but I hope Mets can somehow keep Evans. He did work August/September so he’s at least good for depth.

Wow, hasn’t this guy been outrighted by the Mets like 6 or 7 times the last couple years?

Evans was according to Cot’s:
– sent to AAA in March
– promoted in May when Wright was hurt
– DFA in June
– promoted in July when Reyes got hurt
– returned to AAA when Reyes returned
– promoted in August when Murphy was lost for season

Oh the life of an AAAA player..

I can’t believe anyone even likes this guy. He is the younger version of Mike Hessman. AAAA Player.
