It's September call-up season, so there's lots of 40-man roster movement going on. We'll keep track of the day's outright assignments right here…
- The Angels have outrighted Matt Palmer to Triple-A according to Pacific Coast League transactions page. The 32-year-old right-hander made three generally ineffective spot starts for the Halos in April, and he's spent the majority of the season with their Triple-A club (6.70 ERA in 23 starts).

The Angels are a AAA team. Arte Moreno is all talk.. This is your championship team? I came all the way from Seattle to watch my Angels get their a$$e$ kicked. I felt like I was watching a AAA game VS a MLB team. What a joke the Angels have become..

Don’t be such a drama Queen. We’re better than 24 teams in the league.
cookmeister
then don’t go to any games any more and don’t call them your Angels

Why travel all the way from Seattle to LA when if you wait a week you can see them there? It sounds like the joke is on you.

Thanks for a nice 2009 Palmer

I’m just disappointed I didn’t wake up to find the headline “Angels Designate Fernando Rodney For Assignment”. The dream seemed so real.

^^ Stupid Angels fans. Most of them can’t speak English

^ stupid Angels fan that comes to LA from Seattle to see the Angels lose.
Taylor Haberle
IMO he should just be cut. He’s been rather pathetic in the PCL.

It’s hard to consider the Angels (my team) Championship contenders when they have 5 rookies on their 25 man roster and 4 of them at the top of the depth chart for their position. Add to that the sub par years that Wells and Hunter are having and the wretched bullpen perfomance and being 4 1/2 games out of contention makes them overachievers.
The Angels are in “rebuild-mode”. Next year, put Kendrys at first, Trumbo in left, Trout in right, and get a major league catcher, and all the Angels will need then is bullpen help. The AL West will then remain in So Cal for many years to come. Trout deserves to start NOW and seeing him on the bench last night while Wells makes a routine flyball into a “white-knuckle aventure” turns my stomach.
The “Wells Experiment” is GMJ Jr Redux and we will have to choke down HIS salary for many years to come as well. But the facts are that he does not belong in left field; Trout does.

Recall that Walden has 8 blown saves. Convert those losses to wins and we are just 1/2 game out of first. We are overachieving as a rebuilding team and he will do much better next year. Walden will settle in as his jitters become the mental defiance that a closer needs. Bourjos is indeed the real deal and should be batting in the 2-hole every game. Trout is exceeding everyone’s expectations and should play everyday so long as he remains hot.
I hope you’re right about Conger, but in my opinion, the “jury is still out” and we need a .270+ batting catcher with good defense until he can fill that bill.

Agreed, but it is very, very difficult to find a “.270+ batting catcher with good defense.”
