The Braves pursued Jamey Carroll, but the Dodgers have said they're holding onto the infielder, according to MLB.com's Mark Bowman (Twitter links). However, Atlanta GM Frank Wren says he could still address one area of need tonight. According to David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the Braves continue to pursue middle infield depth (Twitter link).
The Braves, who acquired outfielder Matt Diaz from Pittsburgh today, added corner infielder Wes Helms, two weeks ago. Carroll, 37, has a .289/.358/.347 line in 446 plate appearances for the Dodgers. He has played second and short this year and has MLB experience at third and in the outfield.

Carroll would be a perfect fit. Im sure the braves can et it done. No more Lugo!

IMO bad move from the Dodgers. Although we’ve been on fire lately, we wont make the playoff’s. Its time to let Carrol walk and make it on to a contending club and pick up some prospects. Ned you sir are an idiot.

Anyone to replace Lugo is fine with me. Carroll could have even replaced Alex Gonzalez as the full time starter at short.

Ned Colletti: worst GM in baseball.

I agree…He isn’t responsible for drafting the current talent on our roster (Matt Kemp, Andre Eithier, Clayton Kershaw), just the one over-evaluating free agents (Juan Pierre, Andruw Jones, Manny Ramirez, Jason Schmid) and under-appreciating the in-house position players we need to keep (Russell Martin, Blake Dewitt, Carlos Santana,Trayvon Robinson). I can’t believe he still has a job, especially after implying that Eithier is faking his knee injury.

Omar would have been a great addition for them. God I hope that the cubs arent stuck with colletti also.

Good job Colletti. Deal Santana and Robinson for nothing and hold onto Jamey Carroll?
mrshyguy99
in the Robinson trade we got 3 Boston players. 2 minor league pitchers and a catcher. also looking at it yea Robinson would of been nice to have. but we do have about 3 or 4 other out fielders in the minors who can play. also i question his numbers, because before his big year. he didnt i believe get more then 15 HR in a year.

Jeremy, you are delusional.

After Dee Gordon went down, I understood the reasoning behind holding on to Carroll… but now that Justin Sellers has shown himself to be decent, and Miles has started playing some SS, it seems pointless to hold on to Carroll.
