probably he knows if he holds back and pitches mediocre or worse, then he’s done completely anyway at his age. So he’s decided to risk injury and let loose and gamble that his arm holds up the entire year. just a guess.
Pretty sure Dempster is not a free agent next year. He is signed through 2012…
