The Blue Jays acquired righty Yohan Pino from the Indians for cash considerations, according to the Tribe's Twitter page.
Pino, 27, posted a 5.75 ERA, 7.0 K/9, 2.9 BB/9, and 1.5 HR/9 in 26 Triple-A starts last year, but was working out of the bullpen in Double-A this year. He'd joined the organization in August of '09 as the player to be named later in the Carl Pavano deal with the Twins. Pino last cracked a Baseball America handbook four years ago, when his command was said to rank among the best in the Twins' organization.

I’m going to guess, AA thinks the trade market will get hot for releivers come trade deadline, so he is loading up on any good tallent.

I remember quite a few of us (Twins fans) being less pleased with the Pavano trade once we found out he was the PTBNL. He was looking like future closer material at one point. I’m glad that he’s done nothing since and Pavano has been a big anchor for us.
Not to sound like I hope he sucks…I just want to keep winning that trade.

Bluejays are going to need a few starting pitchers since Litch and Reyes both suck, and by the looks of things this weekend, they’ll need some hitters too since Snider can’t hit his own weight and Lind and Hill are once again this year chasing pitches outside of the zone and trying to swing for the fences pulling their head off the ball….
