“A higher payroll means raised expectations for the Rockies in 2011”
Not True.

How is that not true? Or is that sarcasm I’m failing to hear?

I wish Milledge the best of luch. I think his immaturity was misconstrued and colored him as some sort of thug or malcontent. If he fails to make the team and is willing to accept a minor lge deal then the Yanks should be all over him. I thought he would be a better alternative to Andru Jones because of his ability to crush lefties as well as his age and upside but I get the whole veteran presence, etc.

Truly he showed alot of improvement with the Pirates the last 2 years.

Yeah, off the field where it matters less.

Just sad that there will be no more confusion between him and McCutcheon 🙁 they were the best mini-me combination EVER!!

His immaturity was relevant when he was still on the Mets, but it has been stretched to make him look like Elijah Dukes which is not true at all. I think that same misconception of his attitude is why the Yanks didn’t look at him and your right he hits lefties well and his age is a plus.
Lastings
If he had someone as his mentor when he came up with the Mets, you would never hear about him being immature. When he came up, he was just 21 (youngest player in the majors for 2006), touted as the next Joe DiMaggio, and no one on the team really took the time to show him the ropes. I still am really surprised that people where upset with the high fives. Do people get offended when the Green Bay Packers do the Lambeau Leap?

Anyone else wonder why its hard for Beimel to find a job every season?
