didnt you hear? the M’s are in the NL now
wes W
well, we were last year ’cause we didn’t have a DH in our lineup at all.
(Friend Wispers in Ear)
You mean Milton Bradley and Ken Griffey Jr. were a DH? (Facepalm)

I’d say the fact that Ichiro was your best power hitter last year would be a problem.
wes W
Going by Slug. %, Ichiro was 2nd w/ .394 only to Branyan’s (only played 57 games) .483. Only others over .400 was Sweeney and Smoak, who were hardly on the team. Cust will help, and a more experienced Smoak and Saunders will help, too.

I was going by full season.

since when did the Mariners switch leagues?

” cargo never wanted to leave the rockies”
probably because he know he needs the Rockies and Coors Field as much as the Rockies need CarGo, if not more so. Though it is refreshing to see a Scott Boras client forgo 2 years of free agency.

if I was on a team that because of the thin air and the altitude, it made up for my mediocre talent i’d be happy too.. In Cargo’s case, however, he’s Justin Upton talented, like severely talented. But other people dont’ like to leave Coors because of the above reasoning.
bleedrockiepurple
Your very much correct he’s Justin Upton talented but some feel Upton isn’t, and will not be as good as he should and could be. Upton is a great ball player, dont get me wrong but he was suppose to be the next big thing of the MLB and the dude still has plenty of time to prove hes figured it out. This being the reason why i can understand so many being negative about the deal he got. Others see it as bargain for the Rox and i can see their argument as well. Will let Cargo decide who he proves wrong. There is a lot that played a role in the hot topic of his home/road splits that many just dont know. It wasn’t just him not hitting on the road and the stats dont lie. The Rockies lead the NL in batting avg. at home but dead last if im not mistaken on the road. Batting third in a lineup that hit right around .220 as a team on the road does not bode well for his stats on the road. This is an area where the entire team must improve if they want to be a legit contender in the NL West. If they do improve i feel as though his numbers will balance out more so in the aspect of home/road splits but im sure they will still lean towards his home stats b/c it is Coors and the thin air but also a large portion of the players in the league post better numbers at home. Also the kid is only 25 and 2010 was his first full season in the bigs, he’s still got a lot to learn and whats really key is he’s not willing to accept mediocrity, he wants to get better and improve in every aspect of his game. When 25 yr old kids have a year like he did in ’10 many would be willing to accept it but Cargo is different. He gets it.

No Gimmicks
Perhaps Kouzmanoff was just uneasy because he probably should have been non-tendered.
RepOak
Maybe this will ring a bell in his head and wake him to to start producing! A batting average of under .250 is unacceptable. Of course the A’s were looking elsewhere with that kind of production

I’m not sure I understand the point of the 2017 Rockies article. Was it just to show us their prospects and speculate where they could be in 6 years..?
Meh. Whatever passes the time I suppose.

I was wondering the same thing. It seems to be looking WAY too far ahead. I was thinking more of a 2012-2013 team but he goes and writes about the 2017 team… beyond me.

i still think oakland needs to find a back up that has some power and can play 1b and 3b like troy gluas or jorge cantu or maybe even russell branyan someone hopefully
dc21892
Branyan plays 3rd too?
Scyther
He played 3rd earlier in his career I believe.
