The Nationals are closing in on a deal with reliever Todd Coffey, tweets SI.com's Jon Heyman. The 30-year-old right-hander posted a 4.76 ERA with 8.1 K/9 and 3.3 BB/9 in 62.1 innings with the Brewers last season. They non-tendered him in December after Coffey earned $2.025MM in 2010.
They should put him in the Teddy Roosevelt costume for the Presidents Race. Maybe then Teddy would finally win one.
Get ready for Coffey Time!
Good peripherals and a history of a low walk rate could lead to a nice bounce back.
Nationals fans, get ready for the best entrance in baseball (I can’t link the video but youtube “Todd Coffey to the Rescue”)
The Nationals have a nice little bullpen in Storen, Clippard, Coffey, Rodriguez, and Burnett.
Lol
Coffey would look great in Seattle
Awesome- I wonder when/if the Nationals will ever not be the retirement home for former Reds players.
He’s been a solid reliever for the Brewers and this is a good pickup for the Nats, since they have the payroll to make a couple million overpay insignificant.
The best part about Coffey is his Ultimate Warrior running entrance!
Actually its not a rumor he has been traded to Washington (knows him and his soon to be ex-wife)
hahahaha I just youtubed his video its hilarious to me ! Its Coffey time ! he runs fast as heck
Yeah probably got used to it when he used to pick fights and run from them (he wouldn’t show up).
