The Indians are interested in signing free-agent starter Kevin Millwood, tweets Jon Heyman of SI.com, but the sides are far apart on a price.
The Royals are in interested in Millwood, as well, and the Yankees may be in play, too, depending on what happens with Andy Pettitte, according to Heyman.

This is one of those rumors the Indians create to make it look like they’re trying. They probably offered him $50,000 plus incentives. $1000 for 600 innings pitched!

Jim Hendry may come in at the last minute and “steal him away” for $280M over 5 years with a no-trade clause.

Would don’t the Mets take a shot at him
John Campanaro
Im honestly surprised he’s getting that much interest.. the guy lost 16 games last year.. irregardless of what team he pitched for, he still had an ERA of over 5, and batters hit nearly .300 off of him. I can see that teams might want him for veteran leadership, but other than that this guy is on the wrong side of 30, and probably wont get a minor league deal worth more than $1 million.

If I’m the Yankees, I’d much rather take a shot at Duchscherer instead of Millwood. He’d be a lot less expensive and would undoubtedly pitch much better than him assuming he remained healthy.
