“…50 years after the Milwaukee Braves signed Joe Torre as an amateur free agent…”
I wished they’d kept him the entire 50 years.

Hoffman wants to make sure Mariano Rivera retires before he does. So I guess we’ll see Hoffman another season at least because Rivera isn’t retiring anytime soon.

Rivera might retire sometime around age 62. Not because he can’t dominate batters anymore, but because he’d like to try his hand at golf using only a five iron.

Lee Trevino is waiting for him.

Sure Varitek can play after the next season. For Newark Bears.
Mariano still has at least 2 years left and I wouldn’t be surprised if he pitches for the next 4 years.

is there any chance of getting an android app?
Drinks
Agreed with Jeremy.. Should also develop an Android App seeing as it will be passing the Iphone in units soon anyway.

Something tells me if Sandberg shows up at the meeting with a pulse then he’ll get the job.

Hendry has always given mixed signals about Ryno.
painhertz
Might as well get it over with so we can fire him.

As a rookie this year, isnt takahashi under the mets control for a while?
Brian Culpin
No, because he was signed as a free agent for a 1 year deal ($1M).

I wonder what team would make tak a starter.his numbers were solid out of the pen. and he could be the 8th inning setup man/back up closer we have lacked since duaner sanchez hopped in that cab. Im thinking money talks, bs runs the marathon, pay the man 3 million a year.

As much as I love Varitek and all he’s done for the organization, he must be insane. The new Brett Favre?
