About 14% of MLBTR readers correctly predicted that David Ortiz would win the Home Run Derby. Today's question is a little simpler. Will the AL continue its dominance? Will the NL win for the first time since 1996? You tell us:

The NL will have a chance to even it up in the 7th, but Girardi will unveil the secret weapon: Thorny. Bask in the 98mph left-handed brilliance and weep! I predict a strikeout with two in scoring position! Momentum swung… Game iced!

LOL Rollen on 3rd Holliday on first. Guess who comes in the 7th THORN!!!!!

Yeah, did I call that or what?! Just need whoever is on first to take second base and the prophecy is complete with a big K to the Cubbie representative.

1. Poll is broken.. results aren’t registering. 2. There can’t be a tie, this game counts. 3. NL ALL THE WAY!!

Looks like we know Holliday cannot come up in big situation when playoffs might be on the line.

Holiday looks goofy out there.

I’m going to go out on a limb here and pick the National League.
I’m thinking the score will be……..hmmm………3-1 National League!
🙂 🙂 🙂

Gotta love the last minute voters. They just cannot get it wrong!

Congrats to the NL, but even with the NL (finally) getting a home field advantage in the WS, can’t see that helping 1 tiny bit with how strong the NYY are this year. That team is just stacked and there is not one team in the NL strong enough to finish in 3rd place in the AL East with a healthy team amongst those.

Yeah, you’re right, it’s not like the Braves took the series vs the Rays or anything. The AL East just must have the top 3 teams in all of baseball, right??? Pfft….Also, discounting injuries in a 162 game season is ridiculous. It’s an entire team effort, you need a strong bench. I’m assuming you’re using that excuse for the reason why many NL teams would finish ahead of the Red Sox. I don’t disagree that the Yankees are the best team in baseball because of their unlimited payroll, but to make a claim that no NL team would finish in the top 3 in the AL East and then follow it up with “ifs” is pretty funny.

cant see the yankees making the playoffs without the use of a DH…their lack of bench depth and their pen would be super exposed in the NL…
for example..
…yanks are down 0-1 in the 6th inning…yanks up to bat…2 outs, bases loaded…and the 9 spot comes up…
in the NL, the yanks may take CC out of the game
in the AL, CC pitches the 7th inning, no need to expose Joba again..
