After voting on the best free agents deals for hitters and pitchers, it's time to combine the top vote getters from each poll and determine the best free agent signing of all. This week's results suggest Vladimir Guerrero and Andy Pettitte are the favorites, but let's see how the voting turns out.

Pettitte has pitched great, to be sure, but at $11.75M he is being paid like the ace of most staffs. Vlad has been lights out and is a steal at $5.5M. Glaus gets the value vote from me though at $1.75M (and that is including incentives).
How is Gomes not an option? While he hasn’t put up numbers as good as Vlad or Beltre, you can’t do better than .280/.333/.473 with 10 HRs and 56 RBI for $800,000.00
Do you realize Gomes has negative WAR value because his defense is SO TERRIBLE?

Aubrey Huff .295/.381/.545 16HR, 3 WAR for 3M is much much much better than Gomes. With a positive UZR to boot.

There’s also this guy named JJ Putz who has a 1.64 ERA and a .73 WHIP, good for 12th and 5th best in baseball (min 25 IP). Thought it might be worth mentioning.

ummmm…. rafael soriano anyone? leading the AL in saves, how is he not an option and even Benoit. Those two have solidified probably the best bullpen in baseball without J.P. Howell, one of them has to be on this list.
two words: JOAQUIN BENOIT
