The Twins have signed Jason Repko to play center field for their Triple-A affiliate, according to Joe Christensen of the Star Tribune. The 29-year-old was cut loose by the Dodgers on Wednesday, a move that saved the club $375K of his $500K salary.
In 2009 the oft-injured Repko hit .277/.329/.471 with 16 HRs for the Dodgers' Triple-A squad while making just 7 plate appearances in the majors.

I don’t blame them. He’s worth a shot. Plenty of tools.

It was the right organization for him to go to.

I can’t see anything wrong with this, so good. Another potential guy if a Span emergency occurs.

Good luck to Jason. I always liked the guy. He and Eric Stults were the 2 longest tenured players with the Dodgers heading into this year. I really liked watching him play. Hes about as agressive a defender as you are going to find. And the arm… Good luck Repko!!

time to buy the Twins middle infielders some body armor…just ask Furcal. 😉

Nice. There we go. Some cheap insurance for Span.

Always loved this guy’s play. I wish him all the best.

He should be fine, as he’s now with an organization with proper medical staff and coaching.

I never understood why Repko was never considered one of the Dodgers Young prospects. Its been really strange how people judge Repko. I mean this guy, when healthy, and when given consistent playing time had a good average, could hit home runs, has speed, plays good defense, and was a good player overall then. But some of the people in LA made it seem like he sucked, or that he was only a 4th outfielder. It didnt make sense. I mean to give you an idea of how people judge Repko, Steve “Psycho” Lyons once implied that Repko is a starter. And then that went away……Kevin Kennedy has implied that Repko is a starter, and yet so many Dodger’s fans labeled him a 4th outfielder……and another frustating thing was people said things like well he gets injured alot so thats why management didnt give him a chance….and yet….when he was healthy and did good sometimes management still didnt give him a consistent chance……i mean this guy would have good spring after spring after spring, and they would either give him a chance in the big leagues, where he did good, and then they would bench him, or after a good spring training they would send him to the minors……I mean there have been so many springs where he hit a good average, had a homer or two, had RBI’s, had speed, played good defense, and some people woudlnt make it seem like he was a potential or one of the possible future players that might have a chance to start……i know sometiems there wasn’t any room….but sometims there was………This guy is kind of simiilar to Jayson Werth’s skills, maybe a little less then here well might so hope . . . . . . . .

There’s an Escape from LA joke in here somewhere…
