The Orioles signed outfielder Joey Gathright to a minor league deal, reports MLB.com's Brittany Ghiroli. The Blue Jays released Gathright on Sunday after a poor spring.
Gathright, 29 in April, spent most of 2009 with Baltimore's Triple A club. He hit .329/.386/.376 there, swiping 24 bags in 80 games.

Awesome! He could really help the O’s out.

No he can’t. I hope that’s sarcasm. Felix Pie has turned into a solid 4th outfielder and Gathright won’t be up unless there’s some injuries, and it will be a huge problem if he’s in their lineup.

That didn’t take long.

The orioles version of what Oakland had way back in the 1970’s.. fast guy who has no use for a bat and suitable for pinch running only. Too bad they don’t have roster spots from April-August 31st anymore for these Matt Alexander types that flat out can’t hit, but can run like a deer.
