Outfielder Brad Wilkerson agreed to a minor league deal with the Phillies, reports Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports. Wilkerson was thought to have retired in April of '09.
Unlike fellow minor league outfield signings Chris Duffy and Dewayne Wise, Wilkerson will not participate in the Phillies' big league camp according to MLB.com's Todd Zolecki.
Quite unexpected, but he could be a decent pick up.
Sorry, but I’m sure he’ll amount to nothing.
A little help is better than no help at all.
he is horrible, doesn’t hurt them though since it’s only a minor league deal.
Looks like Werth’s replacement is already lined up.
It still surprises me to look back and see that Wilkerson was worth 9.5 WAR in 2003-2004 for Montreal.
Welcome back! Good guy right there hard worker, good player of the game. GL with the Phils.
He was an excellent player then dropped right off the cliff at a young age , insert steroids comment here:__________
How do you hit 32 hrs with only 67 rbis? lol
By leading off that season. He re-injured the same shoulder he hurt in 2000 in the minors and was never the same. If he’s 100% healthy and re-dedicated to baseball, who knows?
Wow I swear regardless of how bad a player does they will still get signed.
I would be absolutely shocked to see him play for Philly this year. Nothing more than depth.
Just what the Phillies need, more left-handed batters!
glad he signed with someone,he’s from my hometown
Wilkerson is all washed up. Toronto gave him a chance and he blew it. Oh well first you get our best (Halladay) now you get our worst.
