MLBTR navigated the trade deadline today with a six-person team working doggedly to bring you all the latest rumors and deals. As we have for nearly 18 years, our team strives for timeliness, accuracy, context, and analysis.
As a small business, MLBTR has weathered many storms over the years, most recently the pandemic and lockout. This year, unfortunately, our ad rates are down 23% year-over-year. With traffic holding steady, that means the site’s revenue is down by a similar amount. So as the owner of the site, I’ve been spending most of my time working on the ad situation.
Ad-free subscriptions are how we try to bridge the gap. If you browse MLBTR with the ads, you are supporting us, and we appreciate that greatly. Middlemen, however, take a significant portion of ad revenue. If you’re a daily reader and power user of this website like so many MLB GMs, agents, players, and reporters, you can support us directly by getting an ad-free subscription for $29.89 per year. All ads disappear for logged-in supporters, making the site that much smoother as the trade deadline approaches.
We work hard on the additional benefits of subscribing, such as exclusive articles and chats. Click here to learn more! We think the subscription package is well worth your while, and if you disagree you can get a full refund.

Nice

Just not $30/yr nice?
For Love of the Game
Nothing is truly free in this world. $2.50 a month is very reasonable for what we get from this site, so let’s pony up a few bucks for the guys who give us so much information.

As far as subscriptions go, this for me, is still the best deal around.
sascoach2003
As someone who has been a subscriber for many years, $2.50/month for the “extras” that you have at your disposal, is VERY much worth it.

Is there a way to stay logged-in? Maybe it’s my phone, but I have to log-in almost every time I use the app.

This site really is the best. I’ve had no issue whatsoever with ponying up $30 a year as come Winter Meetings time and Trade Deadline time I check this site nonstop! I first discovered it over 15 years ago when I was trying to get the latest scoop on the Brian Roberts to the Cubs rumors – that dang trade never happened either!
Anyways Tim you and the guys do a great job keep it up!

I think I have been with you all since day 1. I am a happy supporter and I think the $30 a year I spend is the best $30 I spend on anything.

I love this site. It’s the best deal around. Hat tip to the writers and editors. I’ll pony up every year.

Been coming to this site for years and years many times per week. About time I contributed a couple of dollars. Thanks for the little discount with the annual plan. Good deal and thank you.

Why is it that a lot of the subscribers in the comments section use the term “pony up”?

Dodger – You’ll find out when Elon buys MLBTR and uncovers all the spambots. Lol!

It’s time to bear down and figure this out.

Do negative reviews get removed here like they do on any other site? I’m suspicious
Curly Was The Smart Stooge
Mine do, and they probably should be. I like to “shake the tree” every now and then and I get controversial. My concern is as a senior, I’m getting more and more “surprise” charges. I just dumped direct tv for over charging me big time. Sadly, I can’t afford even the small stuff anymore. I’ll hang on as long as you will let me. Great site
wagner13
Nah, I’ve seen them periodically. Usually the writers actually reply to them.
It just so happens that the site is run well enough that the ratio of positive to negative comments is quite high

Just signed up. As a long time reader, this was well overdue. Cheers Tim & team!

Seems like a nice pick up by the Phillies (although I don’t know much regarding the prospect they gave up).
On the radio (97.5 The Fanatic) one host just suggested they may go to a six-man rotation for the time being. If not that I wonder if Sánchez would be moved to the bullpen. The added pitching depth is certainly attractive.
Looking towards next offseason I wonder if this move will lead to the Phillies focusing on resigning Lorenzen as opposed to attempting to bring back Aaron Nola — of course, that will likely depend partly on how Lorenzen performs with Philadelphia.
Nola is having a disappointing year and failed to reach agreement with the Phillies on a new deal heading into this season. Despite his struggles it seems he may still be positioned to get (over)paid by someone based on his past success. The Phillies may be able to bring Lorenzen back at a more reasonable price point and/or for fewer seasons.
I’m looking forward to seeing how he performs down the stretch here.

Serious inquiry:
Is there a way we can voluntarily donate/contribute monetary support to MLBTR, as Wikipedia, Internet Archive, and similar organizations allow?
Like a $2 or $3 or $5/month donation., or a one-timer.

Love the site, happy to support. My go-to for sports news, every day!
