SUNDAY, 8:01am: Morosi clarifies (via Twitter) that Ledezma's deal isn't quite official yet, but that the 30-year-old has told people he intends to sign with the Dodgers.
SATURDAY, 11:25pm: The Dodgers have signed reliever Wil Ledezma to a minor-league deal, according to Venezuelan outlet El Universal (Spanish link). A source confirmed the signing to Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports.com (via Twitter).
Ledezma was designated for assignment by the Blue Jays in August and finished out the year with the club's Triple-A affiliate. After the end of the regular season, the left-hander was one of 22 Triple-A players to declare free agency.
In parts of nine big league seasons, Ledezma has a career ERA of 5.40 with 6.4 K/9 and 4.5 BB/9.

So he’s 2012’s Cormier, eh?

Ned’s Plan B if Kuroda doesn’t accept his lowball offer.
Luis Santoyo
Not impressed, Ned!
NYBravosFan10
this guy is still around? I thought he was rotting in some independant league in Kentucky…
Stev84
That’s what I said when I saw Wil Ledezma’s name. These lefties no matter how bad get such a long leash.
Taylor Haberle
HAHAHA! Beat me to it.
AndreTheGiantKiller
Wow, I feel like half the readers here could get lucky and put up a 15 ERA over six innings like he did. What’s the minor league minimum??
Stev84
I think it’s time for a career change; all you need to do is throw left handed and get the ball somewhere in the strikezone!

Secret Agent Ned!!
Lastings
Better throw some extra caps into this deal, he’s known to eat a few after his outings.
Nolan Pollock
man the dodgers are going after some huge FAs. First matt treanor, now wilfredo ledezma? Who’s next, cesar izturis reunion? Wes Helms? Aaron Rowand?
Joey E
YES!
GO DODGERS!
nestleraisinets
that was their black friday bargain…

The sad part about this is that this post needed to be updated. Wil Ledezma signs, doesn’t sign … Who cares? Unless he makes it out of spring training juggling hot dogs while balancing himself on a uni it’s not news worthy.

It’s funny how many people constantly whine about minor league deals. Every team signs junk, and most of it never sniffs the Majors. Depth is depth. This move costs the Dodgers virtually nothing and people still react like this is a significant part of their offseason. Ridiculous.
BlueSkyLA
Yup, it’s a typical minor league cannon fodder signing. Nothing to see here people, move along.
Gumby65
What’s awesome is how many times this has to get repeated.
BlueSkyLA
Well we wouldn’t want any Dodger fans to fall below their MDG (minimum daily gripe) values. They might get rickets or something.
vtadave
Sad thing for the Dodgers though is that this is actually newsworthy.
jb1996
The Dodgers will sign anybody won’t they. bad deal for the Dodgers
BlueSkyLA
Funny how nobody is saying the same thing in the Carlos Maldonado thread. Are Nats fans smarter or just generally less bitter?
craigbhill
this is why the end of McCorpse/Colletti/Mattingly cannot come too soon.
Jeff Westcott
I guess that makes the Dodgers the early favorites for the World Series.
Taylor Haberle
This move sets them over the edge. Myswell start printing the “2012 Dodgers World Champions” hats

ok

So they have 10 million to work with? I think the bull pen is ok the SP of Kershaw-Lilly- Billingsly-Eveland and Nathan Evaldi- might be ok—Aaron Hurang might be as good as Karuda–I like karuda as a team player but Im not as high on him as everyone else is-He is getting old-I have no idea why they signed this guy! 9 years in the bigs and has done nothing–Why not trade Eithier for David Wright? Bring up Scott Van Slyke-He is 25 years old also with some pop and plays 1B–So the Outfield and 1B would be—Kemp-Sands-Rivera-Gwinn-VanSlyke & Loney—The Infield would be—–Uribe 2b & 3b–Gorden SS–Wright3B—Ellis & Sellers 2B SS 3B—-Ca-Ellis-Treanor or -Feder–Dont get any has beens for the bullpen—We have 7 pitchers here already–this might get us thru the july deadline—by then the new owner will be here! this is by no means a great team but it might be ok to start with—kemp-wright-rivera-sands and maybe vanslyke can all hit 20 or more HRs–loney-uribe & ellis can hit 15 HRs not bad at all—Gorden -Gwinn & Kemp all will have 30 to 50 stolen bases—Making this a much better offense–I would also still trade Bills to the Yankees for Montero ( the Yankees have 2 other great catching prospects also)–And Bills is due 9 million that could also be used.
craigbhill
Kuroda eats innings and has an excellent ERA, which is going DOWN as he ages—jesus look at his stats.
