Listing the Brewers as a “dark horse” for Price is a joke. They don’t have the farm pieces to land Price considering that the Rays will want multiple top 100 prospects (possibly even multiple top 50). Melvin can’t afford to trade all of the few minor league assets he has. Besides the prospect cost, they won’t have the payroll flexibility to take on $20 million next year and/or to resign him in two years.
