The Dodgers announce that they signed right-hander Mike MacDougal to one-year deal that includes a club option for 2013. The contract is worth $1MM, according to MLB.com's Ken Gurnick. Hendricks Sports represents the 34-year-old right-hander.
MacDougal spent the 2011 season with the Dodgers and posted a 2.05 ERA with 6.5 K/9, 4.5 BB/9 and a 60.9% ground ball rate in 57 innings. He ranked tenth among MLB pitchers in ground ball rate last year (minimum 50 innings). The 11-year veteran has a career ERA of 3.94 with 7.4 K/9 and 4.8 BB/9.

While I’m not the biggest fan of MacDougal, at a 1 year 1 million dollar contract, this is a great deal.

Hey I’m surprised it wasn’t an overpay.

didn’t get the Dodger rate of 4.5 million for barely major league players (Juan Rivera and Mark Ellis)
At least Ellis can field… and McDougal is sometimes pretty good… Juan Rivera… Maybe he’s a nice guy

i’ve been waiting for the guy to be good again. shame he has to start the season with the garbage dodgers. i say start, because he will be traded
whatever
You’ve been waiting? You a Royals fan or something?
ObamaDinoKiller
haha just a fan of middle relievers
whatever
Hes in his mid 30s and wasn’t all that good last year. Keep waiting bud or root for all the other pitchers in the Dodgers bullpen, because they are all better

Good signing.

Dodgers obviously expressing the expected/deserved level of undying love and support for Ronald Bellasario…

When he was a Cardinal, my wife and I would sing his name to the Macruber theme song when he was called in to pitch. I highly recommend this to all Dodger fans.

That’s it.. That’s what just locked up the division.. Mcwhateverhisheadis

Really Ned?
Well, it could’ve been worse.

it makes more sense than some of the other signings, but don’t expect too much fans. Colletti, and I’m not his biggest fan, doesn’t have a lot to work with. They have a lame duck owner whose only interest is , and probably always was, how much money he can take out of the team. Whoop it up Dodger haters, for the glory days will return and your teams ( giants, Padres) will again sink into the second division. MacDonald did a respectable job this year and at the price, is a worth while gamble.
