The Dodgers avoided arbitration with right fielder Andre Ethier on a one-year deal worth $10.95MM plus performance bonuses, tweets his agency CAA. He received a $1.7MM raise. MLBTR had projected a $10.7MM salary for Ethier, who is entering his final season before free agency.
As our arbitration tracker shows, the Dodgers still have Clayton Kershaw and James Loney on the docket.

I’m surprised there was no contract extension. I guess Ethier is gone in 2013.

I’m not. He is coming off two injuries and a down season. With new ownership in the wings it’s difficult to predict the future, but I’d guess that if he rebounds this season he could become trade bait in July. If he doesn’t, then an extension would have been a mistake. I haven’t heard his agent say that he wouldn’t talk about an extension during the season.

He’s not gone in 2013. He is a very good player and will again demonstrate his worth. Among new ownership’s first order of business will be to extend Ethier and Kershaw.

IIm surprised he wasn’t traded. After a long time being under rated, he’s now over rated. Doubt ges worth the $11MM this year…
BlueSkyLA
Hardly. If the Dodgers traded him this winter it would definitely be trading low.

midget fans should not speak so boldly. Good things are on the horizon for true blue Dodger fans….just you wait and see. p.s. Kershaw will continue his dominance over TL
