11:29am: The Marlins are meeting with Pujols and agent Dan Lozano this afternoon, according to Bob Nightengale of USA Today (on Twitter).
FRIDAY, 10:32am: Pujols is in Miami today and will likely meet with the Marlins and tour their new ballpark tomorrow, according to Joe Capozzi of the Palm Beach Post (on Twitter). ESPN.com's Jerry Crasnick hears that the Marlins are trying to set the meeting up today, but may give Pujols the tour tomorrow (Twitter link).
THURSDAY: The Marlins are scheduled to meet with free agent first baseman Albert Pujols in Miami within the next few days, possibly as soon as Saturday, a source tells Matthew Leach of MLB.com.
It's tough to gauge how serious the Marlins might be about signing Pujols, who figures to command a contract comfortably north of $200MM, but they have already been linked, to varying degrees, to a handful of free agents, such as Jose Reyes, Carlos Beltran, C.J. Wilson, Mark Buehrle and Cuban defector Yoenis Cespedes, throughout the early goings of the offseason. It has been widely reported that the Marlins will increase their payroll substantially in 2012 as they head into a new ballpark at the site of now-demolished Orange Bowl.
It's not yet known whether the Cardinals and Pujols have had any discussions regarding a new contract, according to Leach.

Curious. What was the offer the Cardinals made to Pujols?
Ryan Knox
Lot of speculation but nobody really knows, I seriously doubt the Cardinals offered him a 9 year contract, that doesn’t sound like anything the Cardinals would ever offer. So we don’t know.

Yeah that would be just great for baseball, have the best player in the game playing for an expansion team with ugly orange uniforms in a city that usually had 2,000 people attending home games for the better half of a decade while already having one of the primer players in the game playing shortstop while nobody in South Florida seemed to notice.

Because baseball in St. Louis is more than just the current team on the field, its the history of the team and the city, its the players and the championships that came before. The team is intertwined with the community in a way the Rams and Blues never have been. So its important to us, that Pujols remain a Cardinal because he’s one of us. We have statues of 2 guys outside our stadium that never played a single game for the Cardinals, so its more than just the Cardinals, baseball is more than just a game here, its almost a religion, to see Albert leave would be stabbing us in the hearts, we are one of the greatest franchises in the history of North American sports, we’ve never done anything wrong to Albert, we’ve just supported him and made him part of the community. We aren’t interested in being a team that has to let an icon walk away because we didn’t have enough money to keep him, we aren’t Pittsburgh or Kansas City. He’s got every opportunity to be the greatest Cardinal of them all, but if he leaves because he simply wanted more money after everything we’ve done for him and all this franchise has done, then we’ve horribly misjudged his character. We’ve done nothing wrong, but him leaving would be as if we simply weren’t supportive enough fans after putting 3 million people in that stadium every year and winning 2 championships and crowning him in a sense the ambassador to Cardinal Nation. He needs to do the right thing and stay here.

Ha wave bye to Pujols. If all the drunken fans in St Louis can manage to focus and wave…
