The latest minor league transactions, from Baseball America's Matt Eddy…
- The Reds signed Aaron Harang's brother Daryl out of the Atlantic League.
- The Rockies signed lefty Nick Bierbrodt, the Diamondbacks' first-ever draft pick in '96. Bierbrodt, 31, sat out the '09 season.
- The Twins signed outfielder Charlton Jimerson out of the Atlantic League. He put up big numbers there in '09.
- The Mets inked second baseman Alex Cintron, who hit .285/.303/.387 in Triple A last year.

Nick Bierbrodt? I thought he’d been out of baseball for a while now.

jimerson absolutely tore up the atlantic league last year … as far as minor league depth… hes a great signing

he is old and had only one good year in an indy league. he wont mean or do much for the twins.

unless a complete rash of injuries comes through the twins organization, jimerson will be in trips all year … looking back at his stats … when he made it to the majors hes performed above average.. regardless of his small sample of plate appearances. I feel like if ur gonna sign someone … especially for the salary hes getting … the depth hell provide is above adequate

good point. i see the light now

Oh, what steroids can do for someone. Cintron posted an .848OPS in 2003, but never posted anything higher than .715 in the rest of his 7 year career

Maybe it’s just me, but I think Bierbrodt should only play for the Brewers, the ad campaign writes itself.

Easily the funniest thing I’ve heard in the past week.

Jimerson’s the kind of guy you have to root for…I’m glad to see him getting another shot.

I’m very pumped that Charlton was picked up by the Twins. I hope he makes the team at some point this year.

Not me. If he makes the team it means Denard Span was hit by a bus.
EDIT: Or it’s September. September would be OK.

Don’t worry, Keiunta won’t need to get hit by a bus. They only have 3 outfielders on the 40 man roster. I think the Twins might be able to spare some space for a fourth or fifth outfielder. Jones will most likely make it up sometime as well.
